One thing everybody needs to see this week.

What shows, and what decides that

The start and end dates you set. Scheduled ones stay hidden until their day; expired ones disappear on their own.

The switch is in Planning Center, not here: Church Center → Announcements → the announcement's start and end dates.

That is the privacy model for the whole product rather than a setting for this one module. Every embed has to name the Planning Center flag that makes its data public — a flag you control, before we ever read it — and a module that cannot name one does not ship.

How current it is

Within about 15 minutes. Planning Center offers no notification for announcements, so we check on a schedule — and we re-check the timing on every page view, so a notice you set to come down at noon does, even between checks.

Questions

An announcement vanished on its own.

That is the end date you set. Planning Center decides what is live right now from the start and end dates on each announcement, and we show exactly that set — so an expired announcement disappears without anyone touching it.

Can I pin one to the top?

Order follows Planning Center. Change it there and this follows on the next refresh, rather than having a second ordering here that could disagree with the one your team already maintains.

Putting it on your site

One line of code on the page where you want it, on the website you already have. The steps depend on what that site is built with — Squarespace, WordPress, Wix, or anything else that lets you add HTML.
